Happy (early) Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is this coming week, and our church family celebrated today with a huge dinner on the grounds, an after noon service, and then most people (us included) went home for a turkey induced nap.
Sean and his buddy Jason graduated from the Missouri Sheriff's Training Association this past Wednesday. It's hard to believe that it's 11 months of Sheriff Academy have come and gone already. December's almost here, which means three birthdays, Christmas, New Year's and shortly after, Ayla's 4th birthday...Time is flying so fast!
Some of Sean's family was able to come out for the graduation.
Aunt Oopie, Ayla, Sean, Dawn, Jennifer, Traci and myself.

A group of us went out for dinner afterward, it was a good few hours of seeing some old friends that we haven't seen in a while.

Got to watch the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special, and my mind is blown!!! Looking forward to the Christmas episode, and can't wait for Sherlock Season 3!!! (Moffat, hurry up!!)

Looking forward to Thanksgiving Brunch with my family, followed by dinners Thanksgiving Day and Friday. I think next weekend is going to be a long nap, with all this turkey.

Hope all of you here in the States have a great Thanksgiving, and a safe Black Friday shopping day, if you're going...I'm staying in. To everyone else, Hope you have a great week!

Happy Fall

Haven't posted in forever. Our TV died, and was replaced, which is wonderful. We're already into Fall, and Halloween's passed. It was raining that night, so we didn't take the kid's out. Instead they go to dress up and do a candy hunt inside Nanna and Grandaddy's house.
Ayla was a forest pixie, and Mckey was a nurse.

Sanatra was Superman.
Look at those curls!!

It's been raining quite a bit lately, and the leaves have finally changed. Mom, Jessa and I got to go out for a short shopping trip and lunch, without the kids, which was nice.
This was after we got back, and before I ran out the door to get Bubby to work.

Ayla's learning to write her name, but has trouble writing "y" still, so it's a work in progress. Her vocabulary is growing everyday, in a way that's almost scary. One day she said "hauting" trying to say "hauling", but I didn't even know that she knew that word. She loves her pixie outfit, and wears it nearly everyday, getting mad when I won't let her wear it to Nanna's or to church.
Not a whole lot going on, though this month is going to be good. Does dentist count as good? Going next week, for much needed work. Sean's graduating this month, as well as the  Doctor Who 50th anniversary this month, and Thanksgiving.
Have a good and safe week!

Summer's almost over.

Mom took Ayla, McKey and I to the Magic House today. Ayla had a blast, until it was time to leave for lunch and a nap. She definitely needed a nap. Mckey's birthday is tomorrow, so prepping some stuff for the party. Its been quite a while since I posted last. We've had quite a bit of rain here again, but it's kept the temperature pretty nice outside. Ayla got bit by mosquitoes on her legs a few weeks back...she was so miserable. That's a mosquito allergy for you. Benadryl and hydrocortisone cream were very useful for that. Ayla's decided her favorite color is purple and she prefers cats over dogs. Mom's decided to home school McKey, so we'll be starting Ayla with some preschool stuff as well. That starts next week. Ayla's been doing pretty good learning her letters and numbers and how to write them with the help of a droid app. Not much else is going on. No real schedule set up yet, so it'll be interesting.

Happy birthday, Sanatra!

Sanatra turned a year old yesterday. We went to the St. Louis Science Center to play for a bit before lunch and naps. Then we went to Jessa and Jeffery's for cake, ice cream and fireworks. Can't believe how quickly time has passed.
Sanatra and Ayla had a blast.

Going to be a good day.

Playing outside. Waiting for Nanna to show up with McKey for lunch. Going to see a former coworker later today. Its not raining today, but supposed to get up to 90°. Ayla's cheeks get red so easily. Made her pedal uphill a bit on her bike. She freaked out cause the bike wobbles. That's training wheels for you. Not even exerting herself and she's starting to sweat. Looking forward to a good day.

Happy Father's Day

Lots of rain coming through our part of the States lately, storm pressure is messing with me, but I've not had to water my potted plants yet, due to the rain.
Bought Ayla a helmet for her new bike, she's glad to have it, but not thrilled that it's a pink Barbie helmet and not purple. Unfortunately, they didn't have a purple one in her size, or I gladly would have gotten that.
Not feeling great today, so we stayed home. Nap didn't help much, especially when Ayla woke from her nap, and whined continuously. Gave her ibuprofen and allergy medicine and that seems to have helped a bit. Forgot to give her the allergy medicine last night, which means I forgot to take my own.
Been posting facts about a plant once a day on the GAGGA Facebook page. I've learned quite a few new things doing that, which has been enjoyable.
Been trying to come up with plans for Arnold's Garden in Pacific....not easy when you don't have that sort of expertise. Thankfully we're not on much of a time frame, and there are some things I want to get dealt with first.
Got to visit with Sean's parent's yesterday for Harold's birthday and Father's Day. I am thrilled that he's doing great. He's managing to move his left foot, and that's a huge blessing. Ayla was thrilled to see them as well, and loved when Sean set of a few fireworks before last night's storm moved in.
Ayla's vocabulary is growing again, and she's taken to mimicking lines she hears from movies or her TV shows. She'll say something one way, that she's been taught the proper way to say, and she'll repeat the phrase till she gets it out, and then tells herself "yes, very good".  She's completely potty trained, and only the rare accident when she get busy playing.
Got to go last week with a few ladies from church and have a girls day without Ayla along. It was great. Thrift store, tea house for lunch and then one more store before dropping two of them off and getting Ayla in time for a nap. Ayla got a spider bite sometime that day, but it's doing good. Triple antibiotic helped a lot with that, thankfully.
Jessa's still behind in posting, but she's got a couple 40 hour week schedules, so I don't really blame her. Sanatra's walking quite well now, and one of my favorite things is getting him to chase Ayla around the living room. Going to purge Ayla's toys except for her puppies, baby doll and bunny...Maybe one or two other keepers, but not likely...she has too much stuff, and doesn't play with most of it. She's grown again, and slightly chunky. Already into a size 5 in little girls, so it's time to purge her clothes again. That's on my list for the week.
Not much else going on. Hope you have a great week, and stay safe if the weather gets nasty out your way.

Ayla's new toy

Ayla and I went to a garage sale just down the street. Took $8 with me, Ayla's easter money plus a dollar from me. Found a child bike for that same amount. How awesome is that? She's thrilled with her new "big bike", and I didn't have to spend $50 for something she's going to outgrow. She's going to need some practice in pedaling, but she's smart and will get it in no time.
Also got her a new outfit and swimsuit for $15 total at Walmart, and they're patriotic themed. Now I just have to take her swimming....not my favorite thing to do at all. Nap time for her, then playing more later.

Fun month

Went with Melissa and Evan from church to the zoo. Ayla had a blast. I had problems with medicines, so I'm done taking those and looking at other things. Ayla loves the reptile house at the zoo. We had an ER trip one Sunday night after church. Ayla had a sprained wrist, but was fine that Wednesday. We just went yesterday with Melissa and Evan to the Saint Louis Science Center. Ayla had a blast there too. She was so excited about seeing dinosaurs, though was unhappy that none were purple. Purple seems to be her new favorite color, which she doesn't have much of clothes wise. She was a bit scared of the animatronic T-rex. She was fine with it once she knew it wasn't real and couldn't get her. Its been nice in terms of weather, when its not storming. Prayers for those in Oklahoma and other places tornadoes have damaged.

Pretty good weekend.

It's May now. Saw the neurologist Wednesday, and was put on two pain medicines that I picked up Friday. Took one of them Friday, and did fine. Grandma Pat, Aunt Beth, Aunt Brenda, and Aunt Lela came to town from Oklahoma and Indiana for the Mother/Daughter/Friend Banquet that the church had Friday night for Mother's Day. It was great to see them. Sanatra spent the night with Ayla and I Friday night, and then we went back to Mom and Dad's Saturday to spend the day with family.
Sanatra, Saturday morning, before we left.

Took both medications Saturday, and had an allergic reaction, so I spent most the day on benadryl.
Uncle Ronnie stopped in for a bit to see everyone, and they all ate cake.

Aunt Brenda, Aunt Lela, Uncle Ronnie, Grandma Pat, Aunt Beth, and Mom.

Sean and I had a couple decks of cards that we'd gotten as a gift that'd never been played with yet,
but they got quite a bit of use this past weekend. Mostly in Euchre.
Uncle Ronnie, Grandma, Aunt Lela, and Aunt Beth playing Euchre in the living room.

It's been raining all weekend. Couldn't go into the kitchen downstairs without shoes on or barefoot because of all the water on the carpet that got into the basement.
Grandma wanted pictures of the lake. Gray and dreary, but a great weekend all considered.

Everyone relaxing watching "Brave" together.

They all went home this morning.
Since I thought the reaction was to the one medicine, I wound up taking the first medicine again today. That's definitely what I'm allergic to. Not sure if I'm allergic to the second medicine. Not sure I want to find out. It's been another benadryl day for me today. Going to call the neurologist in the morning to find out what we're going to switch to, and get in to see the chiropractor as well. Zoo trip Tuesday with Ayla and Melissa from church. Hoping for a great week for us and you all.

Spring is finally here!

Sanatra is doing much better since his bout with croup, something we're all greatly relieved about.
I spent a few hours today cleaning. The only way I can really get to what needs cleaned the most is to have Sean and Ayla both out of the apartment, so Sean took Ayla to see Grandma Dawn and Pawpaw H. I had about 2 hours to clean, and managed to completely clean our bedroom, Ayla's room, the bathroom minus the tub (I needed to get a cleaner for soap scum) and the utility room. Made my head hurt terribly, but I wasn't stopping till they came back from his parent's place. When they got back, Ayla took a nap, not happily, but much needed.
Went to China King to have bourbon chicken for dinner, because the other Chinese food restaurant that does deliver, doesn't make bourbon, so I had to drive across town. Which actually worked well, cause Ayla's been wanting pancakes, but the milk was out, so I got that and a scum cleaner for the tub.
Ayla's vocabulary is growing so much. Lately she's taken to saying "affer you", "dis is tewible", "it not my fault", it was an aciden". We've still got to work on some of her pronunciations. It's almost May here, and our weather still can't make up it's mind. It wasn't too bad today, I opened the windows and patio door while I cleaned.
Took Ayla to get a hair cut on Monday, Sean doesn't care for it, cause it makes her "look like Mckey", but I'm the one who sees it most often and has to clean it...I like it.
She was so upset when I made her leave to go have lunch with Nanna, because the ducks at our friend Chrissy's place hadn't come up to the house yet.

Sanatra has 4 teeth in, and getting another. He's taken to biting occasionally, but Jessa says he refuses teething rings. She caught him in a can of Pringles the other day.
He doesn't seem to care too much for baby food, instead wanting what everyone else is having. Not that I can blame him. Ayla doesn't like baby food anymore either. She dipped a finger into his carrots and did not like the flavor.

Sean and I switched our phone service and got new phones. So much cheaper than what we were paying, but such a pain in some ways to get set up. At least it won't happen again for a few years.

Saw the eye specialist for a follow up. My vision has stayed the same since 7 months ago, so I'm getting prescription lenses put in my sunglasses. He said in a few years, I may need corrective surgery, but the glasses are the best option for now, especially since I can't do contact lenses.

Go next Wednesday to talk to the neurologist about these headaches. Hopefully we can figure it out.

Ayla's potty trained, but we've had to deal with numerous accidents lately, to the point that I'm getting exasperated and frustrated. I pulled the mat out of my bathroom and laid down towels instead, cause I'm tired of washing the mat, putting it back and not even an hour later it needs washed again due to another accident.

Have had some difficulties with the PCGG blog, and people not being able to see it. I changed the layout and background, hoping it was just a glitch with that particular template. If you have any problems seeing it, please let us know.

Can't wait for bed time. Hoping the weather is nice tomorrow. Hope you all have a great night and weekend.

Ayla and Sanatra playing at the hospital last night.
Jessa, Jeffery, and Sanatra are finally on they're way home now. Was just a bad case of croup, according to the doctors. Sanatra still had a bit of a wheeze last night, but his oxygen levels were perfectly fine. Thanks so much for the prayers and thoughts. I know they're all ready to be home.

Another day for Sanatra

Sanatra had another rough night, though not as bad as the night before. They've called in an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist. Sanatra is not allowed to eat until they make a decision regarding doing a scope of his throat.
Jessa has to work today, so Jeffery's there by himself for the most part.
Planning on taking Bubby and Ayla up there later to visit, as long as weather cooperates. We have storms today, so pray that the doctors do the right thing and that the weather stays decent enough (as decent as thunder storms can be) for us to go visit and give Jeffery a break.
Will keep you updated as best as possible.

Sanatra 4-14-13

Jessa called Mom with an update on Sanatra. He was worse throughout the night, and a respiratory specialist has ordered a new x-ray. They will decide what to do next after those are in.

Saturday, April 13, 2013

Sanatra update

Grandaddy, Jeffery, and Sanatra.

The lung specialist said there appears to be nothing else wrong with Sanatra. They're keeping him one more night. Mom says he still sounds rough, but he's definitely looking a bit better than he had been yesterday when Ayla and I went to see him.
Hopefully he'll be home tomorrow. This is the last update for today. Thanks for all the prayers. :)

Another night

Sanatra has to stay another night. Doctor wants a lung specialist to look at him n offer another opinion and will get another breathing treatment.

Friday, April 12, 2013

Another update on Sanatra.

Sanatra will spend the night at the Children's Hospital. If he can go all night without a breathing treatment, then he can go home in the morning. Prayers for him, Jessa and Jeffery needed. Jessa has to work tomorrow.

Sanatra update

Keeping Sanatra tonight as a necessary precaution. Expect more breathing treatments perhaps and a full recovery

Sanatra update

Sanatra is taking an ambulance ride to the main hospital of the local chain. It's still just croup, but he's still having trouble breathing. He was given another dose of oral steroid to bring down the swelling, RSV swab came back fine, x-rays were good. White blood count up a bit, but that could be due to the steroid. They'll keep an eye on him for about two hours and then decide if they need to keep him overnight or can send him home.

Sanatra is sick.

Sanatra spent some time in the ER yesterday for croup, went back again last night, sent him home. They took him to the doctor's office this morning, and Jessa just posted saying he's going back to the hospital via ambulance from the doctor. May move him to the children's hospital.

He is definitely in need of some prayers right now.

Baked Apple French Toast

From the "Circle of Friends: 25 Breakfast and Brunch Recipes" by Gooseberry Patch, tweaked to my own preferences.
This requires being prepared the night before, and cooked in the morning.
French Toast
12 slices thick white bread
1 (21oz) can of apple pie filling
8 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups milk
2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, cubed

1/2 cup maple syrup

Arrange 6 slices in a greased 9x13 pan. Spread with pie filling. Top with remaining bread slices.
In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Poor over bread. Cover and refrigerate over night.

Next Morning: Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Meanwhile place the brown sugar in a small bowl. Cut in butter until it resembles small crumbs.
Sprinkle over the top. Drizzle maple syrup over french toast.

Bake uncovered at 350* for 35-40 minutes.

makes 6+ servings

This is half a "serving" according to the recipe. It all depends on how you want to cut it, and how much you want to eat. Enjoy!!

Cuteness overload

He's just so cute, and so much fun!! I love his smile and laugh!!

Sanatra came and spent a few hours with Ayla and I while Jessica's back to work at Walmart. (She quit Dollar General, and good for her.) Jeffery was at GED classes. I had a blast with Sanatra...He's just so HAPPY!!

Ayla loves having Sanatra over.....
Until I say:
"Get her, Sanatra!!"
Lol...That's a good way to get Ayla to freak out. So much fun, especially when Sanatra starts heading towards her. Sanatra's eating cheerios. Well, fruit loops when he's here, and let him try cheez-its too. He liked those as well. Went to the zoo this past Saturday. That was crazy, so many people!!
Ayla was more thrilled and comfortable looking at all the snakes, gators, frogs and such than she was with the big cats and the giraffes. She eventually warmed up to them.

Ayla: "It's a crocodile!"
(it's an alligator)

 "It's a big 'nake'...he's sleeping!"

Just the other day she noticed that Daddy had "disappeared"....he'd just gone to class, but I was thoroughly surprised she could say "disappeared" so well.

That's about it for now.
Have a great week!

Finally warming up!

Headaches. Always pretty much in the same spot. Went to doctor today for blood work and was given a pain medicine that's supposed to be stronger than Ibuprofen....
However, the Nurse Practitioner said the med isn't narcotic, so shouldn't really affect me...but the pharmacist says it can cause drowsiness....and most common side affects? Seizures and depression....I'm really not too keen on taking this stuff...holding out as long as possible....Ibuprofen and Tylenol do nothing for it. If blood work shows nothing, then it's probably off to a neurologist. Joy.

On a better note, it's nice outside here. I have the patio door open and a large gate up, so Ayla can only play right outside the door. Bought lemon balm and got those put into their pots. Hoping it'll be good enough to deter mosquitoes, otherwise I'll buy a citronella plant, and put that in the third pot.
Mom's talking about going to the zoo tomorrow. Hope we do, want to get out of the apartment and do stuff. Small town like this, there isn't much to do for free, and nothing in walking distance, that isn't up a steep hill.
This was about an hour and 45 minutes ago.

and this is now:
Thankfully, I wasn't needing any of that dirt, as it was mostly mulch.
She is definitely getting a bath tonight.

Winter or Spring??

We're into Spring, and we have a Winter Storm Watch in effect. They're predicting 6-11 inches, in a state where our snow doesn't usually stick around. Of course, since we don't usually get weather like this, most Missourians don't know how to drive in it, so we're staying home today.
Ayla wants to go out and play in the snow so bad, but we're making her wait till it's done snowing. No snow boots for her, so bought a cheap pair of back up shoes so I don't have to worry if her tennis shoes get soaked. Made a quick trip to Walmart last night, so now we won't run out of coffee while we're stuck at home.

Ayla's decided her favorite color is pink, but for M&M's her favorite are the brown. She is such a goober. Most people are starting their seeds for planting, and hoping that spring comes back quickly. We didn't have a white Christmas, but at this rate, we'll have a white Easter. I hope not. I don't like the snow.

If you're looking for tips and ideas for your garden this year, go check out Gardening and 'Going Green' with Alice on Facebook. It's my mom's page. She's certified in Square-Foot Gardening, and our friend Susan posts as well. Susan and I are both Master Gardeners.

Getting rid of the dining room table we have, and getting a smaller set from Mom. Can't wait, cause Sean says we may get a deep freeze if we get rid of the table. Yay!

Other than that, not much else is going on. I do hope you'll follow us on Facebook, and check out the gardening page. Hope you all have a great day. If the weather's nasty where you are, stay safe.

Jessa's sick now!

Just got back not too long ago from taking Jessa to the doctor. She's got the flu, and is on Tamiflu.
Praying Sanatra and Jeffery don't catch it as well. Stinks as well, that she just started a job at a local Dollar General store this past Sunday and was supposed to work tomorrow, but doctor said not for a few days. Her new boss wasn't entirely thrilled about that.
Got on here to change Jessa's description since she's no longer SAHM, and figured I'd give an update. She likes her job so far. She's been lucky this week, Jeffery's been off on the days she's had to work except one, and Pop and Nonna (Jeffery's grandparents) watched Sanatra. I'll get to babysit the days they both have to work.

Posted last time how Sanatra's pulling himself up. He's using furniture to cruise around when he doesn't want to crawl.

He got his bottom two teeth in, and is still teething. He loves music. He'll rock back and forth when it comes on and stop and look around when it stops playing.

Ayla's vocabulary is growing everyday, and her new favorite food is waffles. I'm almost out of syrup because I've made them so many times, and the good syrup is expensive unless I get it from SamsClub, and we just did that last weekend. Asked her today what she wanted to eat while we were out, and she asked for broccoli. Luckily for her, Jessa was nice and bought her some.
Every time I go to cook, Ayla says she wants to cook too, so I give her some plastic containers and measuring spoons and let her pretend. She did help me rinse the dishes when I washed them last. She's growing so fast!! She's very opinionated, and spoiled, so we're dealing with that. I've had to be mean in dealing with it. Several times she's gotten mad and me and gone to her room by herself.  She's learning so fast!!

Sean's doing Academy still, and looks like he'll be working at Six Flags again, when that starts up.

Other than that, not much else. The snow from last weekend is still lingering, and flurries keep appearing. I wish it would stop snowing. Can't wait for Spring. Course, when that gets here, we'll gripe about the mosquitoes. Hope you all have a great weekend, and if it's snowing where you're at, I hope you all have safe travel and warm lodgings.

Valentine's and sick. Ugh.

Valentine's day just passed. Both Sean and Ayla are sick with the flu. They're both on Tamiflu twice a day. I'm on it once a day for double the time as a preventative. Ayla's not handling it well, she's very moody and clingy. It started with a fever spike Tuesday and just got worse. Took her to the doctor Thursday after her fever refused to break. She got up to almost 105, but according to the doctor's office, anything less than 102 isn't considered a fever. Ayla's like her daddy and runs an average temp of 99.6, so she's always a bit warmer than me. She's my portable heater.
Ayla's been doing real great with going to the bathroom by herself, even being sick and miserable. Haven't had any accidents, and lately I've not had to ask if she needs to go. Although if she does seem to be taking a little too long, then I go check on her. Usually she's not doing anything bad, but she does like to take toilet paper and swirl the end of it in the toilet bowl and watch it get wet. We also had to get on to her for going into the bathroom to flush the toilet two or three times just because.

Sanatra's getting so big. He's pulling himself up and trying to take those first steps....and he just learned to crawl. He's going to be running in no time. Trying to get Jessa to share, but she keeps distracted, and says at this rate, with all she wants to share, it'll be a book. Thinking best chance may be around his first birthday and just have her do a summary of the year.

With Ayla being sick, I've been getting to read a bit more. She's been laying in my lap and I read as she watches a show or movie. I like my couch, but I miss how deep the other couch was. It was much easier to share a cushion with Ayla.

Academy's been going well for Sean and Jason. Sean's seems to be enjoying it, and learning a lot.

No church for Ayla or I until she's over this flu. Don't want to share it with any of the other little kids.
Other than that, not much else is going on. Hope everyone has a great weekend and no one else gets sick.

Ayla is 3!!

We took Ayla to Incredible Pizza on Martin Luther King Jr Day for her birthday.
Ayla on the merry-go-round at I.P.

Yesterday was dinner with Sean's family for Ayla's birthday.
She had a blast, and couldn't wait for her Princess Cake.
Grandma Dawn bought dress up stuff.
Butterfly Princess.

Ayla's 3rd birthday cake from Sweet Designs by Mandi
Ayla couldn't wait to have the crown off that cake, she got rather upset when
I said she had to wait till we got to Grandma's.

Princess crown from her birthday cake.
3 years old now! I can't believe it!

She got lots of clothes and toys from her Grandma, Papa H, Aunt Jen, Uncle Bill, Cousin Grace,
 and (Great) Aunt Oopie.

She's growing so fast.
We are having to deal with her fibbing. She'll tell me her panties are dry when she had just peed in them. So far, that's the worst fib she's told, but it's only a matter of time.

That's about it for now. February's here now. It's Super Bowl Sunday, and I'm not watching.
Hope everyone has a great week!!

January is half over

January's half over. Ayla's 3rd birthday is next Sunday. I still can't believe it. We're taking her to Incredible Pizza tomorrow for an unofficial birthday party. Mom's holding on to her presents till the 27th, since we'll be seeing her that day anyway. Just the immediate family is going tomorrow. Dinner with Sean's mom, dad, sister and niece the week after. Already working on getting her cake done from Sweet Designs by Mandi for that dinner. No cake tomorrow, and not sure if we'll do any on the 27th. Haven't decided....guess I should.
Dealing with Ayla having accidents in her panties, though I'm not sure they really qualify as accidents, since she does know better. We're working on it....If you ask her why she peed in her panties, you get 'because' as a response. Sigh.
Just updated the Pacific Community Garden Group blog with new guidelines, application and pictures from the past two years. Go check them out. I know we have quite a few non-local readers, but no reason you can't look at the pictures. We'd be thrilled if more local readers joined the PCGG group. You can find a link on the right sidebar, with the picture that says "City of Pacific Community Gardens". You'll also find a link to the Facebook page for Joys and Trials on the left sidebar at the top. Come like us there to keep track of new updates.
Sanatra's getting so big! 6 months old, and loves rocking to music! We'll get him dancing and grooving in know time. He's starting to get the hang of crawling, but still learning.
Finally getting to read "A Memory of Light" in the Wheel of Time series....took long enough. It's been long enough though, I think I need to get all the books and reread them. Same with the books by Christopher Paolini. Haven't even read the last book yet, even though we own it, because it's been so long.
Been having to give Ayla ibuprofen occasionally lately. Seems to be the only thing that puts her in a better mood. She's not teething, as she has all her baby teeth, and it's not time for adult teeth to start knocking those out of the way.
Academy is going well for Sean. I really need to get in to the dentist for this one tooth, because I think it's breaking further....and part of the break is going up under the gums. However with the fees for academy, we can't quite afford to deal with it at this moment. So hope that Sean gets financial aid, that'll make it a lot easier to get this tooth (and other teeth) dealt with.
Dermatology appointment next month, and follow up with eye specialist in April. Can't wait for either. The first, because my scalp is driving me nuts, and the second, because the double vision is back, but we can't afford to buy new lenses again, and insurance won't pay for them until April. Time needs to pass a little quicker, but at the same time, I don't want it to, because that means I'll get another year older that much quicker.

Can't think of anything else. Hope you'll come find us on Facebook. Have a great week. Till next post.

Hello 2013!!

So we're already into 2013. That's going to be fun to remember to write, instead of 2012, especially considering that this past Sunday I wrote 2011 in the date. Whoops!
Got all the holiday decorations and the tree put away. It didn't take long, as I don't have much of that, thankfully. Ayla's birthday is at the end of the month, which is hard to believe. She's almost 3!! Not sure about a birthday party for her....which will be a switch considering we did one for her previous birthdays. Sean's started Academy, and that's every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday; so I can't really do a birthday party for her and expect him to make it on a Saturday. We'll see what happens.
Academy is 9 months long, and it started today. Not a whole lot else has really been going on. Aside from trying to readjust to days that aren't vacation days (not that I get those sorts of days).
Ayla's standing by the trashcan at the moment peeling a boiled egg. She likes boiled eggs, and insists on peeling them herself.
Jessa and I had the 28th of December with no kids. Mom watched Ayla and Sanatra while we went and had Chinese for lunch here in town, then went to the next town and got our eyebrows waxed, and then went and bought clothes for me. Was a good day for both of us, though we both agreed it was just weird not having a kid to keep track of while shopping.
We finally got some snow that stuck around for more than a few hours. We got a few inches that's still sticking around, but starting to disappear. Was thinking about all the times we'd go sledding in the back yard as kids and our sled marks would just barely dodge the trees. Those were some fun days.
I hate this cold weather, I don't handle it well.....but then I don't handle the heat well either. Sean is always amused when I'm shivering in the cold. Lost my gloves sometime over the past year, but haven't bought more as I know I'll lose them again. *sigh*
Singing on the 26th of December went really well. We definitely like this new song.
We didn't buy Ayla anything for Christmas from us. She's got so much stuff, she doesn't need more, and she'll be getting more in a few weeks. Sean and I are holding off on getting presents for each other till after tax time, as the fees for Academy are first priority, but that's alright.
So yeah, not much else going on. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years, especially our family in other countries.
